  10. At last, a self-activating utility for analyzing and archiving files on 
  11. a hard disk. Using criteria set by the user, the system looks for files 
  12. which may no longer be active and offers the user the opportunity to    
  13. either remove them completely or archive (move) them from their current 
  14. location. Technically a hard disk is not required, but the system's     
  15. value is in its ability to scan large amounts of data and automatically 
  16. select data needing attention.

  18. To use the system, pre-select directories to be periodically analyzed.  
  19. A master configuration record tells FILE/ARCHIVE how often to look at   
  20. directory entries to see whether they should be analyzed. By including  
  21. the proper command in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file, the system can be made     
  22. totally automatic. The only thing it will not do automatically is       
  23. actually archive files -- it merely presents the files that meet the    
  24. selection criteria in a menu and asks if you would like to archive or   
  25. delete any of them. Any files that are selected are then moved to a     
  26. designated archive location, usually a floppy disk.

  28. Customize several parameters such as a variety of default values,       
  29. specify whether to include system or hidden files in the analysis       
  30. (although it won't allow you to archive such files as long as they have 
  31. those attributes), specify whether or not to use DOS' Write             
  32. Verify feature, assign your own function keys, and more.
